MOSSEL BAY NEWS - At the monthly council meeting in March council noted the progress made to purchase portions of the farm Vyf Brakke Fontein as well as a portion of Farm 245 in Mossel Bay and the remainder of portion four of Farm 217, owned by the ATKV as part of the upgrading of informal settlements (UISP) programme.

Next the necessary funding applications to purchase, donate, and or expropriate the properties will be launched with the national and provincial government.

The municipal manager was mandated to finalise and sign all documentation in this regard and all transactions will be structured, with funding obtained from the national or provincial government in respect of the purchase or expropriation price.

Funding for the transfer cost will be obtained from the funder, and possession and occupation of the properties will only be taken upon transfer of the respective properties.
