Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Sonwabile Mbambo (39), accused of the murder of Heleen Annandale (62), appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court today, 22 September, for a formal bail application.
However, the case was postponed to Friday 3 October owing to there not being enough time available for the court to get through the several bail applications it had intended to hear today.
Instead, the court heard older cases and set postponement dates for the remaining bail applications.
Mbambo was arrested less than 48 hours after Annandale’s body was discovered with a wound to the neck on Monday 1 September. Medical personnel declared her dead on the scene.
He is facing charges of murder and theft of a motor vehicle, as Annandale’s abandoned car was discovered in KwaNonqaba.
He will remain in police custody until his next appearance.
