MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The two men arrested in connection with the armed robbery at Mozambik Mossel Bay last Tuesday made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court this morning, 13 August, for a bail profile in preparation for a formal bail application.
The men, whose identities are being withheld until an ID parade has been completed, will again appear in court on 25 August when the processes relating to their bail applications are expected to begin.
Some of the restaurant’s staff previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser a group of men, allegedly in possession of firearms, had entered the building at around 11:00 on Tuesday morning, 4 August, and demanded money.
The staff were then locked in a room for about 45 to 60 minutes and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen before the suspects fled the scene.
Two men were arrested by the Mossel Bay Police at a petrol station in KwaNonqaba a few hours later. They made their first appearance in court on Thursday 6 August.
The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
