Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies confirmed that an arson docket has been opened at Da Gamaskop Police Station following the massive fire at Mikeva Hyper this morning.
According to Spies, further investigation of the incident is still under way and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Mossel Bay Advertiser was on the scene and spoke to a few of Mikeva's employees, who told of their shock while watching the fire from across the street.
Daniel Samuels, appointed first-aider and one of Mikeva's liquor store employees, called the situation "heartbreaking". Xola Ndyondya expressed his concern regarding the uncertainty of the situation.

The fire broke out this morning at around 10:00. Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management teams were present at the scene, alongside police officials and emergency medical services.
Although all 154 employees of Mikeva Hyper were safely evacuated from the building, one woman sustained burns and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Mikeva Hyper, located on the corner of Louis Fourie Road and Mossel Street, is known for servicing Mossel Bay's communities with wholesale groceries and other household items.
Mossel Bay Advertiser is trying to get comment from Mikeva Hyper's senior management.
