MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 36-year-old man is expected to plead in the Mossel Bay Regional Court today on charges relating to the rape and sexual assault of Alzheimer's disease patients at a Mossel Bay facility.
The suspect worked as a handyman at the facility and allegedly exposed himself to a 79-year-old woman, who was confined to her bed.
The alleged incident took place in the early hours of 29 August 2020.
When police investigated, they discovered footage on CCTV cameras that indicated another woman, aged 96, had been sexually violated by the suspect.
Police arrested him and found child pornography on his cellphone. The suspect has been in custody since his arrest.
