MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Sister Eva Basson, an educator at St Blaize Roman Catholic Primary School in Mossel Bay for the past 14 years, resigned at the end of the second term and is on her way to France to further her career there.
She is heading for the headquarters of the Order of the Oblate Sisters in Troyes.
Basson will meet with the heads of the order there to discuss her new career path. The Oblate Sisters of St Francis de Sales base their spirituality on the teachings of St Francis de Sales and St Jane de Chantal.
Oblate sisters serve in education, social work, youth ministry, parish ministries and missionary activity. Besides France, there are nuns of the Oblate order in South America and Africa.
Oblate refers to persons, especially in the Middle Ages, who offered themselves and their property to a monastery. (Source: Wikipedia)
