Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Lionel Marais, the businessman who owned the former dog breeding company, Plaaswag Boerboele, is expected to be sentenced in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court tomorrow, Friday 15 November.
Marais was found guilty on 10 July of violating the Animal Protection Act 71 of 1962 after 68 Boerboels in various stages of neglect were removed from Plaaswag Boerboele in May 2022 by the Garden Route SPCA.
His sentencing has been postponed twice, for the completion of a probation and correctional services report.
His sentencing is expected to go ahead today.
