Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Regional Court joined the rape and murder cases against a KwaNonqaba man last Tuesday, 22 July.
This means the cases will now be heard together.
The man, who cannot be named until he pleads, was arrested late October in connection with the rape of a 42-year-old woman.
He was released on bail of R800, and on 11 November, he allegedly stabbed the woman 19 times in her KwaNonqaba home.
The woman, a mother of five, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. She died in the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town on 10 December, as a result of her injuries.
The suspect was arrested shortly afterwards. He abandoned his bail application earlier this year and is expected to appear in the regional court again on 19 August.
