MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the KwaNonqaba police, with members of the Mossel Bay Sea Border Police Unit, paid an impromptu visit to Indwe Secondary School on Monday morning, 20 May.
The learners were asked to submit their bags and other personal property for a thorough search as the police were looking for dangerous weapons and illegal material.
"We are happy to report that the investigation, which happened with the full cooperation of the school, did not yield anything to be concerned about.
"We thank the school's learners, teachers and principal for their cooperation.
"Searches such as this one are routinely done without the prior knowledge of the teachers and learners and serve to ensure a safe environment for all learners," the spokesperson for the KwaNonqaba police, Sgt Kapp said.
To ensure a safer environment for learners at school, the KwaNonqaba police on Monday did an impromptu search of Indwe Secondary School learners' belongings.
