MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The newly evolved South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) is rolling out a nationwide Empowerment Road Show series aimed at equipping business women with much-needed new tools, insights and knowledge to enable them to rise into the future of business.
Elise Coetser, national leader of the council, says: "The Future Jobs 2018 Report by the World Economic Forum, for example, states that: 'New categories of jobs will soon emerge, partly or wholly displacing others,' and that 'the skills sets required in both old and new occupations will change.'
"Plus, we already find ourselves in the first stages of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where new technologies that change the way we do business, literally emerge almost daily. Considering business developments such as these, we can all agree that the business landscape is changing irrevocably. The burning question, however, is: 'Are we ready for it?'"
The SACBW Empowerment Road Show will take on the form of practical discussions and interactive workshops that will enable participants to walk away with new information they will be able to apply in their own businesses, immediately.
In addition to the Future of Work, the topics on the table will include: The Importance of Coaching the Younger Generation of Women in Business, Understanding Millennials and The Unique Traits of Women that Future Businesses Desperately Need.
The SACBW is a 30-year-old legacy brand.
The council has a new slogan: "Uniting all our business women to lead the business evolution."
Coetser says: "As best captured in 'Our Why', we believe in the eternal words of WEB Dubois: 'There is no force equal to a woman determine to rise.' Now imagine what could become possible if powerful women across our country joined hands to rise? The SACBW aims to facilitate exactly that."
The SACBW Empowerment Road Show visit to Mossel Bay takes place on 11 April at the Pinnacle Point Clubhouse. The event will start at 08:30 and end at 12:30 and will cost R250 with a discount of R50 for SACBW members.
