Thank you to all those who have shared their fire stories with us, we will get back to you all.

In the meantime, we can only marvel at the human spirit.

There are so many people who want to simply say thank you – not make a huge fuss of it – that we are likely to have at least one page of these heartfelt words.

We will have another page of anecdotes, like "life without my recipe book means I lost my mother's rusk recipe!"

Since there are many Knysna businesses who also want to convey a message to the community – their customers – the thank you page will be flanked by adverts.

Should you as a business wish to contribute to the commemoration of the fires, one whole year later, we would appreciate your advert.
