MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Sport and Recreation Festival offered a weekend of great variety with athletics, 8 ball pool, karate, boxing and the SA Toughest Firefighter Alive Open Challenge.
The TFA concluded last night after two days of tough competition at De Bakke, seeing 175 competitors. A mini firefighter challenge was hosted as part of the TFA for the first time and drew 70 participants.

The Gi32 15km race and 3km fun run drew many runners to brave cool weather conditions on yesterday morning for the race start from the Van Riebeeck Stadium at 07:00. At Hart & Bosch Village, the Parkrun too drew many participants.
The SACSSA athletics meeting was hosted yesterday at the Van Riebeeck Stadium and concluded at 17:30. More than 200 athletes participated.
Boxing enthusiasts gathered at the Indoor Sports Centre and the action was certainly a crowd pleaser. Shotokan karate hosted their tournament at the Mossel Bay Town Hall. Eight ball pool, a newcomer to the festival hosted their first competition, opened by the Executive Mayor, Dirk Kotzé. The festival facilitated by the Mossel Bay Municipality, concludes on 23 October.
