GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO SPORT NEWS - The Union Stars Women’s team has won their eight’s consecutive title as the champions of the SWD Women’s club competition when they defeated their neighbours from Oudtshoorn, Harlequins Forces, by 9 wickets in the final that was played at the Six Gun Grill Recreation Ground on Saturday.
Harlequins, who batted first, was dismissed for a modest 22 (after 13.5 overs).
The bowling pair of the Garden Route Badgers provincial women’s team Miceala Andrews (3/9 in 5 overs) and Jané Winster (5/4 in 5 overs) were destructive with the ball.
Union Stars (24/1), only needed 2.2 overs, to surpassed the target. Mieke de Ridder was unbeaten at 16* (from 12 balls, 2x4).
