MOSSEL BAY ATHLETICS NEWS - The Hartenbos Drawwers held a successful social and prize giving function at the Koswerf Restaurantat at the Hartenbos Seefront on Saturday, 25 January.
Athletes were rewarded for their achievements during the 2019 athletic year. The youngest athlete to obtain an award was eight-year-old Hanlo Barkhuizen, for his participation in the SA Cross Country Championships, while Les Stuart, 77 years, was the oldest.
Les was given several awards in different prize categories. Willem Lodewyk and Benita Joubert received the sportman and sportwoman of the year awards.
It was a privilege for Hartenbos Drawwers to have Ria and Ben Bouwer, both in their 80s, hand over the awards. Ria and Ben have both been members of Hartenbos Drawwers for many years and have now decided to take a break from their running activities and to concentrate on walking. Hartenbos Drawwers wishes them all the best.
