This year Freedom Day will be celebrated under the theme: Celebrating the Beginning of the Third Decade of our Freedom through Accelerating Radical Economic Transformation.
Key messages for Freedom Month and our future
While we have made great strides towards improving our country, more can be done. This year’s key messages for Freedom Month show us how we can get involved:
South Africa is a better place to live in.
In light of the recent xenophobic attacks, let's promote and defend human dignity for all who live in our country.
The values and ideals of freedom are integrated into the Constitution Let's honour and protect our Constitution. Learn more about the Constitution. These values ensure that we can enjoy our freedom.
Ties that bind us are stronger than barriers that divide us Our differences in race and beliefs should not destroy our freedom. We should promote our similarities instead of our differences.
Consolidate the gains of 21 years of democracy and freedom We must continue to protect our democracy. You can do this by practising your right to vote in the elections, and getting involved in projects that can uplift your community.

Celebrating our freedom
Our provincial Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport will host a production by MOD learners called Earth Moves. This event is an ongoing contest that will conclude on 26 and 27 June 2015 at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town.
The semi-final, which is the Freedom Day event, will take place at Baxter Theatre on 26 April 2015.
Moving forward together
