MOSSEL BAY NEWS - While a bid to break a world record at the annual Mayoral Golf Day was ultimately unsuccessful, it was all in aid of a good cause.
Lukas Korff, a 19-time world record holder, author and preacher, attempted to break the record of catching a golf ball while standing 250m away from a golfer at 16:00 during the Golf Day at the Mossel Bay Golf Club yesterday, 13 September.
Korff told Mossel Bay Advertiser that due to tired golfers and strong winds, no golf ball came near to where he was standing, however, it was all for a good cause at the end of the day.
The Mayoral Golf Day is hosted as a fundraiser for the Mayoral Relief and Charitable Fund which is used for various causes, such as NGOs which require assistance with prohjects to uplift the community, for young people who are chosen to represent their school at provincial level, but cannot afford necessities and travelling costs and for instances where homes have burnt down and a family is left destitute.
