MOSSEL BAY NEWS - There have been reports on social media about damage due to the gale force winds.
Besides the damage noted by Mossel Bay Advertiser so far, on enquiry by the Advertiser, Mossel Bay Municipality noted it was too soon to do a thorough summing up of the damage.
It noted that so far it was aware of reports of roof sheets and tiles being loosened.
Trees were also damaged and uprooted. This includes a tree on private property, a tree uprooted in De Jager Road (Reebok), and also at Milkwood Primary School, where branches broke off the tree and fell into Marsh Street.
Branches were cleared from the road surface. All roads are open to traffic, the municipality stated.
Note that trees on private property are not the municipality's responsibility.
