Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The four teenagers accused of attempting to kill a Da Gamaskop police officer on 25 May appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 23 September.
The police officer, who had been off duty at the time of the attack, had been walking with a friend down Dalindyebo Street in Albert Luthuli Park, Mossel Bay, when a group of people wielding an axe and other sharp objects attacked him.
The friend was unharmed.
The officer was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Four teenagers aged between 16 and 19 were arrested within 24 hours of the attack and charged with the attempted murder of the officer.
They were released on bail of R500 each on 13 June. They are expected to make their first appearance in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on 20 November.
