Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - KwaNonqaba police officers recently arrested a 23-year-old in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in Asla Park on 27 July.
Athenkosi Gavu (29) was found in Hector Avenue with stab wounds to his neck and back at about 04:40 that morning. He was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
KwaNonqaba Police Station spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, had previously told the Mossel Bay Advertiser that police had been called out that morning following reports of an altercation and that an arrest was imminent.
KwaNonqaba detective, Warrant Officer Geoffrey Moos, was assigned the case and Kapp said Moos' dedicated investigative work led to the arrest of the 23-year-old Thabang Molefe on the morning of 11 August.
Molefe was arrested in Gentswana Drive, KwaNonqaba and appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on a charge of murder the same day.
The matter was postponed to today, 25 August.
