Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A section of Flora Road in Dana Bay, which was previously closed due to an ongoing large veld fire, will be opened by municipal traffic services.
This is according to the Mossel Bay Municipality. Vehicles will be escorted by traffic officials along the section from the Caltex circle to the Flora Road and Louis Fourie Road intersection.
The situation will still be monitored. Road-users are urged to be patient and drive cautiously, as smoke from the fire can impact visibility.
The Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch has asked that if possible, residents stay off the roads as too many people and vehicles make it more difficult for firefighters to move around.
The veld fire broke out earlier today, 25 November. Mossel Bay fire, rescue and disaster management services are on the scene, as well as emergency services.
