Update
DANA BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Advertiser was on the scene where a veld fire has spread from the area near the new cemetery in Louis Fourie Road towards Dana Bay in Flora Road. Here is what you need to know:
- no homes or infrastructure are currently at risk
- firefighters are working to prevent the blaze from reaching residential areas
- Flora Road has been closed
- Residents of Dana Bay have been urged to use the emergency exit route located at the opposite end of Flora Road
- The entrance from the N2 is opposite the Herbertsdale off ramp
- This alternate route remains fully operational, ensuring that motorists can still enter and exit the suburb if necessary
- The cause of the fire is not yet known
- Power outages reported in Dana Bay, restoration time uncertain
- Firefighting operations currently underway on the northern flank, western flank, and along Flora Road.
