MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Residents of Dana Bay can be proud to have Mrs Garden Route in their midst after a local won the crown on 25 August.
The pageant final took place at the Oubaai Hotel in Herolds Bay.
Minette Marais (36), who was crowned Mrs Krugerdorp last year, and is now a Dana Bay resident, promised to serve the local community and pursue her childhood dream of becoming Mrs South Africa one day.
The first princess is Estania Bruyns and second, Corrie Ross. The judging took place in two categories, floral fantasy dress and evening outfit. Apart from being crowned Mrs Garden Route, Marais also won prizes for Mrs Personality, Mrs Philanthropist Queen, Mrs Debutant and Mrs Style.
"The floral fantasy category was so nice to work on. We had to collect donations for less privileged moms and children. I thank everybody who contributed to my goal," said Marais.
Currently brand ambassador for the Hyperbaric Sport and Beauty Centre in Dana Bay, she said health is her passion.
The Mrs Garden Route title is a platform for an ambassador to make a difference in impoverished communities through the work and projects of the Role Models Foundation in South Africa.
"Never stop dreaming. Don't ever give up on your dreams. The sky is the limit, no matter what life throws at you. Don't stop believing and always wear your invisible crown," Marais said.
Her motto is: "Wake up, pray up, dress up and show up." (#caringforthemostvulnerble in society and #everychildmatters)
