MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Animal rescue shelters are usually filled to capacity, and there are many more animals being abandoned each day than there are homes that welcome pets.
That is why it is important to support your local animal charity.
CAWS 4 PAWS (Community Animal Welfare Society) is a registered community-based organisation in Great Brak River. This non-profit organisation is run by volunteers who are dedicated to alleviate the suffering of domestic animals in and around the area.
Their aim (supported by the Garden Route SPCA,) is to provide much-needed relief for cats and dogs from homes that cannot afford sterilisation. They also do outreach clinic visits, dipping, emergency treatment for animals involved in accidents and providing kennels and pet food.
Doctors and helpers, who receive no compensation whatsoever, provide all the services. Therefore donations and involvement are of the utmost importance to keep this initiative going.
You can start to show your support by obtaining a lovely tea towel which bears the text: "The best friends are the ones with paws."
