GEORGE NEWS - An Alzheimer's disease information session is taking place at Groenkloof Retirement Village in George on Tuesday, 13 November.
The event is taking place under the auspices of Alzheimer's SA, the NPO which raises awareness of the disease and trains carers of Alzheimer's patients.
The session will start at 10:00 and take place in the restaurant at Groenkloof.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- What is Alzheimer's?
- Stages of the illness.
- Signs and symptoms.
- How to communicate.
- How a safe environment looks.
- The role of families and support groups.
