MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On Friday, 21 September, carers of Alzheimer's patients received certificates from Alzheimers SA for a course they had completed.
The carers and managers who work for the ACVV Seebries seniors' homes received their certificates at ACVV Ons Huis in Mossel Bau.
They did a four-day basic course, titled: "Caring for the person with dementia". It was World Alzheimer's Day on 22 September.
Alzheimer's SA Southern Cape branch manager Hettie Theron, who gave the course, commended the attendees on their diligence, eagerness to learn and the way they really cared about their patients, which she said was evident during the course.
Before the certificates were handed out, the carers lit candles in honour of Alzheimer's patients and a touching poem from the viewpoint of an Alzheimer's sufferer was read out.
