Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A warrant of arrest has been issued against a suspect by the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ court that is sought in connection with the murder of Pinnacle Point resident Margaretha Willemse (79) who was murdered on Saturday, 4 June in a home in Albatros Street, Pinnacle Point.
A preliminary investigation suggests that her 87-year-old husband alerted the neighbour’s caretaker at about 10:00 on the morning of 4 June.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Poje says they proceeded with inspection at the premises and found the deceased in the bedroom with a wound to the neck.
"The suspect, Clement Siabata Kholoane a Lesotho National, was positively linked to this incident through forensic evidence (fingerprints) found on the scene."
Police has launched a search for the suspect who fled the area ever since. The possibility that the suspect could find himself in the Bloemfontein area or might have fled to Lesotho, is not excluded.
The police appeal to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the investigation officer, W/O Geoffrey Moos at 044 606 5631, 079 163 7659 or crime Stop at 08600 10111. All information will be dealt with confidentially.
