Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Police are still awaiting forensic results following the murder at Pinnacle Point Estate outside Mossel Bay on 4 June.
The body of Marietha Willemse (79) was found in her home in Albatross Road in the estate that morning.
She had been stabbed in the neck with a sharp object. Her husband, Johannes Willemse (85), was stabbed several times and he survived the attack.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie told the Mossel Bay Advertiser today, 17 June, on enquiry, that forensic results were being awaited.
Although there were two burglaries at houses in the vicinity of the murder victim’s home the same weekend, Pojie told the Mossel Bay Advertiser that “no direct linkage has been made as yet between the murder and the two burglaries”.
Pojie repeated: “Take note, we are still awaiting forensic results.”
