MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two rugby players from the Mossel Bay area, who competed in the U18 Craven and Academy rugby week from 24 to 29 June, have been selected for the South African Schools teams.
The players selected are Elgernon Meyer (17) from the Great Brak area and Kurt Coetzee (18) from Heiderand, Mossel Bay.
Elgernon, who attends Outeniqua High School in George, was selected for the SA Schools team - the first team - and Kurt, who attends Oakdale Agricultural School, was selected for the SA Schools Academy team, known as the A team, but which is essentially the second team.
Kurt is the head boy of Oakdale.

Coach
A coach from SWD, Adriaan Jansen, based at Oakdale Agricultural School, has been selected as the conditioning coach for the SA Schools A team.
The SWD Craven week team only won one of its three matches.
They beat the Valke 41-34 in their first game of the tournament, followed by a 19-28 loss to the Sharks, and narrowly lost 40-45 against the Lions in their final match.
SWD’s Reinhardt Viljoen was chosen as man of the match for the Valke match and SWD's Kai Pratt for the Lions match.
The SWD Academy team beat the Leopards 22-19, lost 34-36 against the Griffons and put on a phenomenal performance against the Border Bulldogs, beating them 106-10.
