MOSSEL BAY NEWS - This December all roads lead to Mossel Bay.
The well-known annual 2021 Hot Summer of Touch (HSOT) touch rugby tournament final legs take place at Dias Beach and Hartenbos Beach.
The tournament takes place in Strand on 5 December, Camps Bay on 12 December, Kleinmond on 16 December and Struisbaai on 19 December.
Then the final legs are at Dias Beach on 27 December and Hartenbos on 29 December.
The greater Mossel Bay area makes for huge fun this festive season.
There is 67km of coastline and five Blue Flag beaches, more than 30 restaurants and almost 60 different activities to experience, including helicopter flips, shark cage diving, hiking, safari and horseback riding.
What started as a standalone touch rugby tournament 21 years ago is now an epic six-event series that is run as a roadshow, with celebrity MC Deon Bing, contests, product displays and prizes up for grabs.
You might even spot past and present provincial and Springboks in and around the beaches.
Teams consist of a maximum of eight players and the format encourages participation, with a Premier, Cup, Junior and even Ladies' section if there is sufficient interest at certain beaches.
To enter the HSOT championship, go to www.touchrugby.co.za and register online.
With strict Covid-19 protocols in place, it is important for teams to pre-register to avoid disappointment as the number of team entries is strictly controlled, however if the full team contingent has not been filled prior to the events, late entries may be permitted on the morning of each event (from 07:15 to 08:45).
Call or WhatsApp the HSOT Hotline (062 770 6818).
