MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Bowls Club recently wrapped up and announced the winners of its biannual business league. 

The league runs for six consecutive Thursday evenings and is played on a strength-to-strength basis, during which stronger teams play one another, giving newer players a chance at winning a game or two. 

Twenty-eight teams of four players each participated and represented local businesses in the Mossel Bay area. 

"Great fun is had and local businesses are able to interact in a social environment," said the club. 

The team from Moss Ink, Marinus and Jerry van der Mescht, Leon van Rensburg and Piet Snyders, took first place. 

Gabriel Smith, Gerald Glover, Ricus Serfontein and Marius Harmse took second place for team On Cloud. 

In third place was team Drema, Hennie le Roux, André le Roux, Candice White and Piet Pienaar. 

The Plate (the second half of the ladder where newer players compete) was won by team Rickert Terblanche.
