MOSSEL BAY NEWS - At the Mossel Bay Sports Council Awards on 29 July at the Bravo Lounge at the Garden Route Casino, it was clear that members of the sporting community are held in high esteem for their ability to inspire.
Executive mayor of Mossel Bay, Alderman Dirk Kotzé opened the floor with a powerful quote from a movie.
“We create ourselves through long years of rigorous training, sacrifice, denial, pain. We forge our bodies in the fire of our will."
He continued in saying that the sportsmen and women of Mossel Bay serve as an example to the community.
“Tonight I want to thank you for your incredible sacrifice, pushing through pain to reach your greatest potential.” He made special reference to the efforts of the Mossel Bay Sports Council.

Director of Community Services, Elize Nel agreed adding wisdom shared by legendary boxer Muhammed Ali. Ali, Nel said, never counted the push-ups he did until it started to hurt. Because it is only then according to Ali, when training started making a difference.
