SPORTS NEWS AND VIDEOS - The official opening of the Western Cape Development Netball Tournament took place at the Hartenbos Primary School grounds on Friday, 26 August.
At the ceremony at 16:00, Eden Netball Federation chairperson René Booysen encouraged the players to value sportsmanship rather than whether they were winning or losing.
Eden Netball Federation is the host of the tournament.
She said netball developed discipline, focus, dedication, hard work and teamwork. She encouraged participants to play their best and make memories.
She quoted a saying by iconic United States gymnast Mary Lou Retton: “A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.”
