Exciting Easter Weekend for sport awaits Mossel Bay

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay can expect an exciting Easter Weekend as a soccer and rugby tournament will be hosted from Friday to Monday, 3 to 6 April.

The Mossel Bay Easter Rugby Tournament will be held at the D’Almeida Stadium in Ext 8, while the Easter Weekend Soccer Tournament will be played at the Ext 23 sports grounds in Mossel Bay.

Local rugby teams such as the Mossel Bay RFC, Barbarians, Titans and Brandwag RFC will go head to head with teams from George, Grabouw and Swellendam.

Primary and high school rugby teams will also have an opportunity to showcase their skills, before the big guys take the field on Friday.

Participating schools include Sao Bras High, Great Brak Secondary, Hillcrest Secondary and Parkdene Secondary, as well as Erika Primary, Diaz Primary and Ridgeview Primary.

Tickets are available online at barbariansrfc.weticket.co.za, or at the stadium’s gate. Those unable to attend in person may follow the tournament live on Heart FM’s YouTube channel.

Soccer

Eighteen soccer teams under the Mossel Bay Local Football Association (Molfa) will be participating in the tournament. The winning team will claim R8 000 in prize money.
