CYCLING NEWS - Tia Marnewick (18) of Curro Mossel Bay independent school, won Best School Sportswoman of the Year at the Eden Sport Council Awards held on Friday, 28 July.

An Eden cyclist, Tia has achieved exceptional results.

At the SA Track Championships in Cape Town this year she won nine medals for the 10 events she raced: two golds, five silvers and two bronzes.

She won seven medals at the African Track Continental Championships held at Cairo, Egypt, this year: four golds, a silver and two bronzes.

At last year's SA Track Champs she raced in seven events and won five medals: a gold, three silvers and a bronze.

She was selected to represent South Africa at the African Continental Championships 2022 held in Nigeria, but she was unable to attend.

Tia has a list of other achievements in cycling. Besides this, she also has achieved academic colours and enjoys weight training, dancing and baking.
