MOSSEL BAY NEWS - NSRI Station 15 in Mossel Bay crew are very excited to announce that the 2023 NSRI Mossel Bay Golf Day, in association with Mitsubishi George, will take place on 25 March at Pinnacle Point Golf Estate.
All funds raised will go towards the purchase of a versatile JetRib for the rescue base.
The JetRib is a traditional jet-ski with the addition of a specially designed rescue deck and pontoons.
The water jet propulsion is more eco-friendly than the traditional outboard petrol engine and removing propellers from the water eliminates the real danger of a propeller strike to patients and rescue swimmers. It’s also easily operated in the surf by a single person and is an incredibly stable yet highly responsive surf rescue platform.
The total cost of this versatile vessel is R650 000.
JC Roos, station commander of NSRI Mossel Bay, thanked the Mossel Bay community for its support over the years and noted: "We responded to 41 rescues last year. We could not have done this without your support."
Format
The format of the golf day will be a Betterball Stableford Scramble Drive. Activities start at 11:00.
Visitors can join for R799 per person and members for R500, which includes 18 holes, the cart fee, a halfway meal, dinner after the game, prize giving and an auction.

The NSRI has arranged with Aviators Paradise Guest House for special rated accommodation if players should require this.
The station is looking for sponsorships and donations that will make this event a success.
• R2 000: Sponsor a tee that includes a display / exhibition of your business at the tee.
• R5 000: Sponsor a tee that includes four players and an exhibition at a tee.
The NSRI is also looking for donations of items, products or services for the auction and prize giving that will take place on the evening of the golf day.
