MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - "The holidays are a memory, schools are back, as are the masses of visiting golfers from all over the country.
"What a great December it has been, with record numbers passing through our beautiful golf course, but having said that it is really nice to have things back to normal and especially lovely to see all our old golfing buddies again.
"We eased into the first competition of the year with an alliance divided into three sections, two scores to count on the first six holes, three on the second and four on the third, so it wasn't all plain sailing.
"Team Christe-Mari Meyer, Ineke Botes, Magda Griesel and Michaela Collins faired the best, scoring 108 points.
"In second place was team Gloria Greyvenstein, Marie Smith and Catherine Bell ably assisted by "ghost" Ineke Botes with 102 points and in third place the team of Gail Botha, Sue Wright, Rachel Mulder and Diana van Staden, scoring only one point less.
"Lizette Kruger nabbed nearest the pin and there were three two clubs made for the day by Hettie Bruwer, Lizette Kruger and Gloria.
"Next week we play our first medal round, a true test to see if any holiday cobwebs are still lurking."
Gloria, Sue, Rachel, Diana, Gail, Lizette, Ineke, Michaela, Magda and Christe-Mari at the Mossel Bay Golf Club ladies' first competition for 2019.
