GARDEN ROUTE CRICKET NEWS - Langenhoven Gymnasium in Oudtshoorn has dominated schools cricket in the province, winning the U19 Super League and the Twenty20 titles.
Outeniqua High won the U15 title for the third consecutive year, while their U19B side was victorious in the U19 Promotion League.
Sentraal High School from Beaufort West won the U15 Promotion League.
Langenhoven Gymnasium retained the title as Schools T20 champion after they successfully defended their title with a four-wicket victory against Outeniqua.
The versatile Zander Nel from Outeniqua High shined with both bat and ball, scoring the most runs in the U15 Super League (212 runs) and claiming the most wickets (21), with a best bowling analysis of 5/13 as the top bowler in the league.
Three SWD U19 players, Heath Richards (Glenwood House), Tyrece Karelse (Protea High) and Jhedli van Briesies (Langenhoven Gymnasium) made their provincial first-class debut while still at school.
Due to the cancellation of the Momentum U13 national tournament and CSA girls U19 national tournament because of continued rain, no boys U13 or girls U19 cricketer of the season was selected.
