Boland won the toss and opted to put WP in to bat first. They bowled them out for 163 in 44.3 overs, with Shandré Fritz continuing her good form with 67 off 83 balls. Yolandi Potgieter took three wickets for 48 and Moseline Daniels 2/32.
Ismail did not give Boland room to breathe once she got her first breakthrough at the end of the seventh over. She bowled an impressive spell that included four maiden overs and took the first seven wickets of the Boland innings, dispatching the entire top and middle orders, putting the opposition on 41/7 after 18.4 overs. Tatum le Roux took the remaining two wickets, leaving Boland reeling on 50/9 after they lost Stacy Lackay to injury.
At University of Free State’s (UFS) Oval Two, Mignon du Preez played a captain’s innings for Northerns against Gauteng, scoring 113 off 125 to lead her side to victory. She won the toss and promptly asked to bat first. Northerns posted 225, losing their last wicket with just one ball left of their innings.
