CRICKET NEWS - The city of Cape Town received much needed relief from drought conditions on Sunday when it rained for the best part of the morning and the afternoon, ensuring that no cricket was possible.

Although it was disappointing for the cricket, the rain was welcomed in most quarters.
The teams arrived at the ground and hope floated for a late start, but just as the covers came off after noon, the drizzle began once more and did not abate.
The groundsmen were kept busy most of the day and the stewards were called into action late in the day when a couple of streakers ran onto the field and evaded capture for a few minutes before being tackled.
Sadly this was all the action on the field and play was officially called off at 3.30pm.
