MOSSEL BAY ATHLETICS NEWS - Twins, Zhané and Zanelle Vorster, both qualified to represent South Africa at the World Championship in each of a discipline derived from Olympic Sport, modern pentathlon.
Zhané qualified to make the SAMPA (South African Modern Pentathlon Association) Team for the Triathle (a discipline including running, swimming and shooting with a laser gun) which will be held in Egypt from 25-28 October.
Zanelle, on the other hand, received her South African colours for laser run (a combination of running and shooting with a laser pistol).
This event will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from 28-30 September.
"It was our goal to receive SA Colours this year and with confidence, we can say that we gave it our all! We are blessed with the opportunities in which we are able to reach for our dreams. Unfortunately, each athlete is responsible for their own costs, including airfare, accommodation, clothes and competition fees, and we can honestly say that it is quite heavy on our father. But we believe we will make it with the help of everyone who is behind us, and be the best we can be! Help us not only reach our goal but to live it as well.
