MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Hartenbos Drawwers De Dekke Spar race over 21.1km will take place on Saturday, 1 February, in Great Brak River.
Runners can expect a steady climb from the bottom of Morrison Road, up to Glentana, a race downhill and then the finish at the De Dekke Spar. The De Dekke Wimpy will be open for breakfast or a cup of coffee.
After the race there will be a prize giving, followed by exciting lucky draws.
De Dekke Spar is the official and main sponsor for the event. Gida de Swardt, owner of the De Dekke Spar, annually opens up his generous heart with ceaseless contributions towards this timed ASWD event.
Johan Viljoen, chairman of the Hartenbos Drawwers, thanks the local traffic officers for their willingness and enthusiasm in assisting in directing the traffic on the day.
"We urge motorists to be cautious and be on the lookout for runners and marshals on the roads, especially at the finish at the De Dekke Spar complex.
"Local business owners, Build-It Mossel Bay, Herbie Oosthuizen & Associates, Just Property as well as the Hartenbos Drawwers' own Andisa Clans and Friends, will keep our runners hydrated at their assigned water points along the route."
