MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The latest person in our series of articles on male fashionistas is the reigning Mr Mossel Bay, Rayno Michaels (22).
He describes himself as a fashion fundi. "I always like to dress in the latest style." He is no vintage guy. Rayno also has a passion for wrist watches and sunglasses.
He works at a popular men's fashion chain store in town. "I wear the clothes men can find in the store."
Besides being Mr Mossel Bay currently, Rayno was Mr KwaNonqaba in 2019.

With his lean build, Rayno makes a perfect model to show off clothes. "I would be lying if I said I exercised to keep slim," Rayno said. "I am naturally slim. I did karate from when I was small until Grade 10, but now I do not do any exercise."
In terms of personal style, Rayno notes: "Basically, you wear what makes you feel comfortable. Sometimes it is not about age. Someone aged 60 might want to wear the latest styles and if he feels comfortable in them, he should wear them."
Rayno's favourite colours are baby blue and dusty pink.
He is Mossel Bay born and bred and attended Sao Bras High School. "I have a large wardrobe," he admits.
"The other day I was scratching in my cupboard and discovered two bags of clothes with the price tags still attached. I bought the clothes last year."
He is "crazy about shopping" and clothing selection is an instinctive thing for him. "Sometimes you step into a shop and something simply catches your eye. If you know how to wear the item, you can mix and match it well with a variety of other items."
A love of fashion runs in his family, but he credits his mother mainly for this bent. "When my mother was younger she loved the latest styles."
