NATIONAL NEWS - A 13-year-old boy has been shot and killed in Uitsig.

This is the first death since the implementation of a peace pact between rival gangs about five months ago.

The teenager was at an outdoor prayer service in the area when he was gunned down last night.

Uitsig community leader David Van Wyk said, “The community is upset because we know that things were improving in our community. Now this happens suddenly and unexpectedly. We, as the community, do not feel good about what happened to that young boy last night.”
