NATIONAL NEWS - Impala Park resident Margaretha Johanna Compaan (29), who went missing in the early hours of July 19, was found in a veld in Pomona at around 13:00 yesterday (July 20).
She told authorities that the last thing she remembers was when going to the bathroom at Presleys night club and was surprised to wake up in a strange little room.
Her mother, Catherine Verwey, who was relieved at finding her daughter, told the Advertiser that her child was found in a very bad state.
“She was drugged and she had bruises, cuts, marks and a swollen face, which clearly indicates that she has been assaulted,” said Verwey.
Verwey said Margaretha escaped from that room through the window and ran to the nearest property.
“After knocking at the gate without finding help, she ran and hid in the veld nearby, where she was found and the police were called,” she said.
