NATIONAL NEWS - In a space of two weeks yet another school has been burned down, Sedibeng Ster reports.
Khutlo-Tharo Secondary School in Zone 3 Sebokeng suffered damage to ten administration block rooms in the wee hours of Wednesday.
It is said that five occupants of a vehicle, three females and two males, were passing the school in a vehicle at around 2:00 to 3:00 when they realised that the school was on fire. They then called a resident who stays opposite the school.
The resident then called the school’s caretaker, and together they called the police and the fire brigade. Police spokesperson Aubrey Moopeloa said that the whole administration block, with eight classes, burned down and that the damage is not yet known.
The cause of the fire is also not known.
“We are awaiting a full report from our forensic department so that the damage and the cause of the fire can be determined,” Moopeloa said
Police are investigating.
