KNYSNA NEWS & VIDEO - The “chaos” at Woodmill Walk in Knysna captured on video on Monday 16 April seemed to have subsided by today, Tuesday 17 April. Donations meant for fire victims, stored here for eight months now, are finally being sorted and those responsible say they are busy distributing the clothes.
Due to the possible misunderstanding caused on Monday by volunteers collecting the 10 items promised to them for their time spent sorting the clothes, the volunteer programme has been stopped.
Fire Disaster’s Jill Morse confirmed that the programme had been stopped to avoid any further chaos or misunderstanding. "From now on anybody who would like to volunteer will have to either contact the local Red Cross or Ewan (Seton) himself," she said.
Fire victims who would like to access the clothes and goods stored in the Old Edgars building need to contact OneKnysna#OK to register and book an appointment.
