NATIONAL NEWS - The country's murder rate has increased by 1.8%, South African Police Service crime statistics have revealed.
Police Minister Fikile Mbalula released the latest crime statistics in Parliament on Tuesday.
The figures, released annually, provide an overview of crimes that have been reported to the police.
It is the first time that Mbalula presented the statistics since his appointment to the portfolio during a Cabinet reshuffle in March.
