NATIONAL NEWS - Some Johannesburg Metropolitan Department (JMPD) cars, had to be recalled for re-registrations.
According to a statement released by JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minaar, management had to issue instructions for 27 patrol cars to be recalled.
This follows an observation that these patrol cars were fitted with number plates from Free State and Cape Town, and these patrol cars were silver and orange in colour instead of white and orange.
“It was established that the fleet management company which supplied the cars, issued the cars in error.
These cars are currently being re-registered, and are being issued with GP number plates and for the cars to be resprayed so that these cars have proper JMPD branded colours,” said Minaar.
