A spokesperson for the Cape Town prosecuting authorities said the docket had been sent to the Western Cape Directorate for Public Prosecutions, for a decision on whether to proceed with the case. No reasons were given.
The charge relates to an early morning motor collision in Camp’s Bay, involving Gibbs, on December 1 last year.
It is alleged that Gibbs was speeding, when his car collided with a Toyota.
Gibbs was initially scheduled to make his first court appearance on November 25 – almost a year later – but his appearance was re-scheduled for December 14 instead, because he was out of the country.
