NATIONAL NEWS - The Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Limited in a statement this afternoon said flight delays are currently being experienced at OR Tambo International Airport.
The delays are primarily due to temporary human resource constraints at the Air Traffic Control station.
Contingency measures have been implemented and additional resources are being deployed to stabilise operations.
These interventions are expected to resolve the situation today and progressively restore normal service levels.
"Safety remains our highest priority, and ATNS continues to work closely with airlines and airport partners to minimise disruptions and ensure the safe and efficient movement of air traffic.
"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank travellers and operators for their patience and cooperation," said the ATNS.
